Brief Overview or Introduction
Summary: This preview is of a custom-designed e-commerce author website to sell a non-fiction book detailing the financial decisions of two fictional friends.
Project goals: Design a Book Launch Package, including a:
- Book cover
- Paperback interior design; layout, formatting, and typesetting
- PDF book interior design; layout, formatting, and typesetting

Client: Financial Adviser Sieg Prigge
Problem: The specific pain point the website addressed was to add more credibility to his name with a book and website, and bypass the red tape of traditional publishing where a lot of manuscripts are turned down and a lot of royalties go to the publisher instead of the author, and to reduce costs by working with an independent contractor instead while keeping the full amount of book sales.
Role
Responsibilities: My role as the Designer was to translate the author’s logo design into a fully-fledged brand identity which extended into the various deliverables including an e-commerce website that allows potential readers to download samples of an ebook, a pdf and a preview of the paperback interior.
Process & Development
Research: The initial steps involved researching the financial adviser’s competitors.
Conceptualisation: The first concept consisted of a static web design provided as an image.
Iterations: In the first iteration the author asked to change the purple colour scheme to grey.
Final Solution/Design: In the final web design the look and feel can be described as corporate, cerebral, and modern.
Tools & Technologies Used: Adobe Illustrator, WordPress, Divi, Payfast, WooCommerce.
