Project Goals: Cover design, graphic art, including

Client: Sunbury Press in the United States
Role
Responsibilities: My role as the Designer involved speaking to the author, and studying the fiction literature analysis which he completed, to get an understanding of the book, as well as reading parts of the manuscript to get a feel for the material.
Process & Development:
Research: The initial phase involved thumbnail sketches of illustrations. These illustrations capture key scenes in the book.
Conceptualisation: From the thumbnail sketches I developed two further into a cover draft
Iterations: The cover drafts were presented to the author and publisher who chose a final direction
Final Solution/Design: The final design was presented to the author and publisher
Tools & Technologies Used: An array of tools from physical to digital, including paper notebooks, pencils, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Results & Impact: The author utilised the cover to sell his book on Sunbury’s website.
Testimonials or Client Feedback: The author praised the quality of the design, and wrote: ‘I think you did an outstanding job. My only suggestion would be to make the eyes a yellowish color so they stand out a little more. Otherwise I think it’s perfect.’
